Daniel Ts’o Commemoration

Saturday, May 16, 2026, 8:30 – 9:30 pm, Pirate Island

This gathering of friends and colleagues will commemorate Daniel Ts’o, who passed away suddenly in October of a heart attack (July 1, 1956 – October 30, 2025). Dan contributed extensively to our understanding of the functional organization in primate visual cortex. He established the bulk of intrinsic signal optical imaging technology that continues to be used today across the world.  He studied under luminaries such as Torsten Wiesel, Charlie Gilbert, Amiram Grinvald and other luminaries at Rockefeller, and held faculty positions at Baylor College of Medicine and SUNY Upstate. Dan was understated and always generous with his time. Please join us, share your memories, and raise a glass in his honor. You are welcome to send photos to Anna Roe for a ppt presentation ().
