VSS is pleased to announce that we’ve formed a Technical Committee to develop the VSS meeting app internally. We see this as an exciting first step toward building something that our community can continue to improve over time. Developing the app within the society allows us to draw on the expertise that already exists among our members while also keeping costs manageable. Our longer-term goal is to develop the app and its underlying platform in a way that could eventually be made available for other scientific societies to use. 

Looking beyond the meeting app, we would also like the committee to think more broadly about how VSS might modernize the way it operates, including where AI and other emerging technologies could genuinely be useful. This could include anything from society operations and membership services to new ways for members to find one another, exchange information, and stay connected before, during, and after the meeting.

We are still early in this conversation and are very open to ideas. If you have relevant expertise and would like to contribute to any of these efforts, please do not be shy about letting us know. We would be delighted to hear from you, whether you have a specific idea, a particular skill you would like to put to use, or simply an interest in helping. Please reach out to the VSS office at , and they will pass your message along to the committee.
