Elsevier/VSS Young Investigator AwardVSS is pleased to announce the sixth annual Elsevier/VSS Young Investigator Award, sponsored by Vision Research. The award is given each year to an outstanding visual scientist who received an advanced degree within the past 10 years. Nominations must be made by a VSS member, and will be reviewed by an Award Committee of five established visual scientists selected from VSS membership. Members of the Award Committee and of the VSS Board of Directors cannot serve as nominators. The Award Committee will select the winner by March 14, 2013. The prize will be presented at the 2013 VSS meeting in Naples, and will include an honorarium. The awardee will be asked to give a presentation of her/his work at the 2013 VSS meeting, and to write a review to be published in Vision Research. The nominations should include a letter including a detailed description of the nominee's scientific contributions, and a complete curriculum vitae. Previously considered nominees may be re-nominated, but a new nomination is required each year. To be eligible, the nominee's most advanced degree must have been awarded no
earlier than the calendar year 10 years prior to receiving the award. For the
upcoming 2013 award, the degree must have been awarded in or after 2003. Nominations for the 2013 Young Investigator Award should be submitted by email to Shauney Wilson (vss@visionsciences.org). Deadline to submit nominations is January 31, 2013. |
