Announcing Vision Sciences Society 13th Annual Meeting
VSS 2014 will be held at the Tradewinds Island Resorts May 16-21, 2014.
The VSS Annual Meeting offers attendees the opportunity to learn about the latest vision research, see recent advancements in technology by visiting our exhibit booths, and to meet and network with their colleagues in a relaxing and beautiful setting held in Florida each year.
Sessions and Activities
1300 presentations are expected in 2014 including 200 talks and over 1200 posters. Friday sessions begin at 10:00 am with workshops and member-Initiated Symposia. Morning and afternoon sessions run all day Saturday through Tuesday, 8:00 am through 6:30 pm, concluding with a 1/2 day session on Wednesday, May 15, 2013. Exhibits will be open Friday evening through Monday morning.
VSS Membership and Meeting Services System
Registration and online abstract submissions are accepted through the VSS Membership and Meeting Services System. Users must create a login profile, and this login information will be used to register for the meeting, submit abstracts, view the online meeting itinerary planner, and many other useful features. The same user name and password is used to sign up for membership in the Society. For more information on the benefits of membership, see Benefits of Membership.
Abstracts are submitted through the VSS Membership and Meeting Services System. Each individual may submit one abstract and may be the first author on only one abstract. The first author must be a current member (for 2014) in good standing.
All first authors must register for the meeting in order to present his/her poster or talk. Author substitutions for posters require pre-approval by the VSS Program Committee and will be handled on a case-by-case basis. Substitutions for talks are not allowed. Each registered attendee may present only once at the meeting.
The deadline for abstract submissions is 12/3/2013.
You must sign up for membership first, before submitting your abstract. Accepted abstracts will be published in the meeting program and in the online Journal of Vision.
The Abstract Review Committee evaluates all submitted abstracts. Abstracts submitted for talk sessions and/or travel fellowships are assessed by two reviewers; all other abstracts are read by one reviewer. The scores from each reviewer are converted to Z-scores. Abstract scoring is completed prior to the Board Meeting in late January, at which the abstracts are scheduled into talk and poster sessions.
Abstracts are limited to 300 words. Additional space will be provided for funding acknowledgements. Please complete your submission carefully. All abstracts must be in final form. No typos or other errors can be corrected once the submission has been received. Each submitter is allowed to upload a one-page PDF file of supplementary material to help the Abstract Review Committee evaluate his/her abstract.
