Announcing Vision Sciences Society 10th Annual MeetingVSS 2010 will be held at the Naples Grande Hotel May 7-12, 2010 The VSS Annual Meeting offers attendees the opportunity to learn about the latest vision research, see recent advancements in technology by visiting our exhibit booths, and to meet and network with their colleagues in a relaxing and beautiful setting held in Florida each year. Sessions and Activities1200 presentations are expected in 2010 including 200 talks and over 1000 posters. Sessions begins at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 7, 2010 with Member Initiated Symposia and concludes at noon on Wednesday, May 12, 2010. Morning and afternoon sessions run all day Saturday through Tuesday, 8:00 am through 6:30 pm, concluding with a 1/2 day session on Wednesday. Exhibits will be open Saturday morning through Tuesday afternoon. VSS Membership and Meeting Services SystemRegistration and online abstract submissions are handled through the VSS Membership and Meeting Services System. Users must create a login profile, and this login information will be used to register for the meeting, submit abstracts, view the online meeting itinerary planner, and many other useful features. The same user name and password is used to sign up for membership in the Society. For more information on the benefits of membership, see Benefits of Membership. Abstract SubmissionsAbstract submissions are available through the VSS Membership and Meeting Services System. Each individual may submit one abstract and can be the first author on only one abstract. The first author must be a current member in good standing. All first authors must register for the meeting in order to present their poster or talk. Each registered attendee may present only once at the meeting The deadline for abstract submissions is 12/1/2009. You must sign up for membership first, before submitting your abstract. Accepted abstracts will be published in the meeting program and in the online Journal of Vision. ReviewsThe Abstract Review Committee evaluates abstracts requesting a talk as well as abstracts submitted by students applying for a Travel Award. Each abstract is scored by two Committee members, who are suggested by the author and/or a member of the Board. The scores from each reviewer are converted to Z scores. Abstract scoring is completed prior to the Board Meeting in late January, at which the abstracts are scheduled into talk and poster sessions. Abstract FormatAbstracts are limited to 300 words. Additional space will be provided for funding acknowledgements. Please complete your submission carefully. All abstracts must be in final form. No typos or other errors can be corrected once the submission has been received.
