Airport Transportation

The Fort Meyers airport (Southwest Florida International Airport - RSW) is approximately 30 miles from the Naples Grande Hotel. This page gives some options for getting from the airport to the hotels. Capacity is limited so you are urged to consider reserving your transportation before arriving at the Fort Meyers airport. There are three options for getting from the airport to Naples: the VSS Shuttle Service, a rental car or taxi.

There is also a small municipal airport in Naples (APF), however there are very few flights servicing the airport. For information on ground transportation from the Naples Municipal Airport, go here.

VSS Airport Shuttle Service

VSS has arranged for discounted transportation from Fort Meyers airport to the meeting hotels. Service will be provided by Naples Transportation, Tours & Event Planning (NTT&EP), a professional transportation company and is available 3 days prior to the start of the VSS meeting (Tuesday, May 5) through 3 days after the close of the meeting (Saturday, May 16).

The one-way VSS fare is $29/person each way. The VSS Shuttle Service will be available for arrivals and departures every day of the conference between the hours of 6:00 am and 10:00 pm. Roundtrip purchase is not required. Tickets must be purchased a minimum of 3 days in advance. Individuals from VSS 2009 will be grouped together for transportation.

Transportation drop-offs (and pick-ups) will include The Naples Grande Resort & Club, the Hilton Naples, the Staybridge Hotel and the Park Shore Resort.

Rates

Transfers within the hours of 6:00am and 10:00pm on Arrival/Departure Days and made three days prior:
$29.00 Per Person / one way

Transfers outside the hours of 6:00am and 10:00pm or for private transfer:
$75.00 Per Sedan / one way (3 passenger maximum)

Airport Arrival Instructions

Upon arrival at RSW proceed to the baggage claim carousel for your flight, even if you did not check any luggage. You will see your driver or an NTT&EP Staff/Driver holding a VSS sign, staff will assist with your luggage and direct you to your vehicle once all passengers are present.

On the day of travel, if for any reason you won’t be arriving or departing on the expected flight (either the airlines cancel the flight or the flight is missed), please contact Naples Transportation, Tours & Event Planning’s dispatch hotline at 239-262-3006 as soon as possible and kindly provide us with your new flight information. Passengers will be charged for any No Shows.

Departure Shuttle Instructions

On departure day, please check in at the podium in the main lobby 10 minutes before your scheduled departure time for your return to the airport. Departure notices will be delivered to your hotel AND will be available at the VSS registration desk.

Rental Car Reservations

Avis is offering VSS attendees special rates on rental cars. The group discount offers VSS attendees discounts of up to 25%. By using the special VSS number, AVIS will automatically search for the lowest rate being offered at the time of reservation. To reserve a car, contact Avis at 800-331-1600 and use your Avis Worldwide Discount (AWD) number D087220. Taxi Service

Taxi rates run approximately $65 to Naples for 1-3 passengers. Most taxi companies will charge $10 for the fourth person and for a stop at a second hotel.

Traveling from Miami, Ft. Lauderdale or Tampa

If you're traveling from an airport other than RSW, check the airport websites for the best transportation options into Naples. In most cases, renting a car is the least expensive route.

Tampa International (TPA)

Distance from Ft. Meyers airport: 144 miles

Bus: Greyhound bus offers 3 trips a day from Tampa to Naples (7:30 am, 10:35 am and 4:30 pm). The trip takes 5-6 hours and without discounts costs approximately $45.

Shuttles/Vans: Pre-reserved shuttle transportation is provided by a variety of companies. Consult a phone directory for the specific area for contact information.

Miami International (MIA)

Distance from Ft. Meyers airport: 143 miles

Bus: Greyhound bus offers 3 trips a day from Miami to Naples (7:40 am, 11:35 am and 2:10 pm). The trip takes 3 hours and costs $33.

Ft. Lauderdale (FLL)

Distance from Ft. Meyers airport: 130 miles

Bus: Greyhound bus offers 3 trips a day from Ft. Lauderdale to Naples (8:45 am, 12:35 pm and 3:05 pm). The trip takes 2 hours and costs $33.

Shuttles/Vans: Pre-reserved shuttle transportation is provided by a variety of companies. Consult a phone directory for the specific area for contact information.

Driving

If driving into the Naples Grande, parking is available free of charge to meeting attendees. Parking is located in the 2 floors under the hotel. Overflow parking will be posted soon.
